Description

This image shows staff member giving a group of incoming students a campus tour during freshman orientation at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1970s. L. S. Dougherty Hall, built 1962, and Sanford Mall can be seen in the background. Freshmen orientation included welcome addresses, advising, program meetings, campus tours and registering for classes, as well as placement testing.
