This image shows two students studying at a table in the D. D. Dougherty Library, built 1935, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1960s. Dougherty Library served as the main campus library until the opening of the first Belk Library in 1968, after which it housed the Departments of Library Science, Philosophy, and Religion.
