This image shows a student standing in a parking lot by a pile of suitcases, preparing to move into a dormitory during move-in day at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1970s. Move-in day preceded the start of each semester when the dormitories opened and students began moving in to on-campus housing. A car can be seen parked in the background, and the sign reads, "Service vehicle parking only."
