Description

This image shows the attendees of a student teaching workshop held at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the summer of 1961. Students can be seen standing in front of the second Administration Building, built 1924. Director Ernest J. Milner and Dr. Ben Horton, head of the Department of Education, can be seen kneeling in the front. Education students were expected to teach in their field of specialty full-time for at least one full semester under the guidance of an experienced teacher, most at off-campus schools.
