This image shows members of the North Carolina Education Association standing outside at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) around 1960. The North Carolina Education Association served as a state organization to promote education in North Carolina and included educators from across the state. It was one of many such organizations in the state. Seen from left to right are Mr. Robertson, Mr. Phillife, Mr. Smith, and Appalachian State President William Howard Plemmons (1955-1969).
