Description

This image shows Professor E. B. Degroat from the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at Appalachian State University (1967-current), giving a presentation on teaching physical education to the disabled in May 1968. Attendees can be seen sitting on bleachers. The event was sponsored by the Department of Special Education in the College of Learning and Human Development. The Department of Special Education is now the Department of Language, Reading and Exceptionalities in the College of Education, and it includes undergraduate work in communication disorders and special education, and graduate work in communication disorders, reading education, and special education.
