This image shows a speaker giving a presentation during the dedication of the Allgood Living Center in Lilie Shull Dougherty Hall, built 1962, for the Department of Home Economics in the College of Fine and Applied Arts at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in October 1974. The audience can be seen sitting at desks on the right. The Department of Home Economics is now the Family and Consumer Sciences Department and provides graduate and undergraduate programs in child development, nutrition, apparel and textiles, and family and consumer sciences.
