Description

This image shows a student preparing food in the kitchen of Lillie Shull Dougherty Hall, built 1962, in the Department of Home Economics in the College of Fine and Applied Arts at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1970s. Home Economics majors were also required to live and work for a semester in the Home Management House. The Department of Home Economics is now the Family and Consumer Sciences Department and provides graduate and undergraduate programs in child development, nutrition, apparel and textiles, and family and consumer sciences.
