This image shows a student working with fabric patterns a textile course in the Department of Home Economics in the College of Fine and Applied Arts at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1970s. Two other students stand in the background. The Department of Home Economics is now the Family and Consumer Sciences Department and provides graduate and undergraduate programs in child development, nutrition, apparel and textiles, and family and consumer sciences.
