Foreign Language Week, 1975, photo 1

Description

This image shows two students playing instruments in a field during Foreign Language Week sponsored by the Department of Foreign Languages in the College of Arts and Sciences at Appalachian State University (1967-current) on April 23, 1975. Members of the audience can be seen sitting in the background. Foreign Language Week included booths in different languages and a covered dish supper, and lasted during April 21-26, 1975. Programs in the Department of Foreign Languages focus on teaching students both the language and culture of a region, and includes courses in French, Spanish, Chinese, German, Arabic, Japanese, Latin, and Russian, as well as offering classes for international business and economics majors in the College of Business.
