Retirement

Although Elizabeth retired from teaching in 1978, she was still an active participant in her community.  She served in many capacities, including in groups such as the Retired Teachers' Association of Wilkes County, as well as being a tutor, and a board member of various social, school, and church-related groups.1  Even after she retired, Mrs. Grinton received letters and cards from students she had interacted with as a teacher or tutor.
