Description

This image shows four students and Professor Woodford Sink looking at the results from a Beckman IR7 infrared spectrophotometer in the Department of Chemistry at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1960s. The Department of Chemistry exists within the College of Arts and Sciences, and aims to provide training for future chemists, basic understanding of the principles of chemistry, and chemistry teachers. The Department has been accredited by the American Chemical Society. Standing on the far left is Mr. Alfred Overby, Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry.
