This image shows a student sitting on a stool while adjusting the settings on a machine in a laboratory classroom in the Department of Chemistry at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in May 1968. The Department of Chemistry exists within the College of Arts and Sciences, and aims to provide training for future chemists, basic understanding of the principles of chemistry, and chemistry teachers. The Department has been accredited by the American Chemical Society.
