This image shows Dr. Donald Sink and Dr. Thomas Rhyne of the Department of Chemistry standing in a classroom at Appalachian State University (1967-current). Dr. Rhyne is pouring a substance from a bottle into a Erlenmeyer flask, while Dr. Sink pours the contents of a bottle into a tub. The Department of Chemistry exists within the College of Arts and Sciences, and aims to provide training for future chemists, basic understanding of the principles of chemistry, and chemistry teachers. The Department has been accredited by the American Chemical Society.
