This image shows a student working a power meter in a laboratory classroom in the Department of Chemistry at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) during the mid-1960s. Other laboratory equipment and glassware is on the table and against the wall. The Department of Chemistry exists within the College of Arts and Sciences, and aims to provide training for future chemists, basic understanding of the principles of chemistry, and chemistry teachers. The Department has been accredited by the American Chemical Society.
