Description

This image shows Professor Frank Randall of the Department of Biology at Appalachian State University (1967-current) holding the head of a two-headed calf in a classroom in March 1973. Professor John Frank Randall taught at Appalachian State from 1957 until retirement in 1989. The Department of Biology aimed to provide cultural background in life sciences, prepare biology teachers, and train biologists, and included courses on animal observation, zoology, and graduate classes in animal ecology. It is housed in the College of Arts and Sciences and maintains a greenhouse, a herbarium, and several land tracts located on and off campus.
