Description
This image shows an educational film being made by the Department of Biology at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in May 1972. Professor Kent Robinson can be seen being filmed sitting in a canoe. The Department of Biology aimed to provide cultural background in life sciences, prepare biology teachers, and train biologists, and included courses on ecology, zoology, and botany. It is housed in the College of Arts and Sciences and maintains a greenhouse, a herbarium, and several land tracts located on and off campus.
