Biology Class, 1968

This image shows Professor Ray Derrick holding an Erlenmeyer flask to students during an outdoor biology class at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in June 1968. Students are seen crouching around the professor, and a box with bottles and jars is resting in the center. The Department of Biology is housed in the College of Arts and Sciences and maintains a greenhouse, a herbarium, and several land tracts located on and off campus.
