Description
This image shows a group of attendees at an art exhibit at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the mid to late 1970s. Three people are seen sitting on a bench, while three others stand in the middle of a room. Framed paintings hang on the walls in the background. The Art Department is located in the College of Fine and Applied Arts. It includes concentrations in clay, drawing, fibers, metals/jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture, and often displays student and faculty art in the Catherine Smith Gallery and the Turchin Center for Visual Arts.
