Description
This image shows students listening to a lecture in an art class at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in mid to late 1970s. The Art Department was one of the first departments at Appalachian State and is located in the College of Fine and Applied Arts. It includes concentrations in clay, drawing, fibers, metals/jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. On the right and seated next to the blackboard are Mr. Larry Edwards, Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Art, and Ms. Judy Humphrey, Professor of Art. On the left by the blackboard with what appears to be a pen or pencil in his mouth is Mr. William Dunlap, Professor of Art.
