This image shows a young boy sitting on a wooden beam drawing at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in September 1980. Farthing Auditorium, built 1974, is visible in the background. The Art Department is located in the College of Fine and Applied Arts. It includes concentrations in clay, drawing, fibers, metals/jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture, and offers workshops for both students and nonstudents.
