Description

This image shows an art class being held by Assistant Professor Judy Humphrey at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the mid to late 1970s. Ms. Humphrey can be seen standing on the left, holding a piece of paper, and students are seen sitting at tables around the room. Originally part of the Division of Applied Arts, the Art Department was one of the first departments at Appalachian State, and is now housed under the College of Fine and Applied Arts. It includes concentrations in clay, drawing, fibers, metals/jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.
