This image shows Assistant Professor Glenn Phifer holding a finished pot in the Art Department at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the mid to late 1970s. Other pieces of glazed pottery can be seen in the brick kiln in the background. The Art Department was one of the first departments at Appalachian State and is located in the College of Fine and Applied Arts. It includes concentrations in clay, drawing, fibers, metals/jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.
