The awards were distributed during a faculty banquet held in Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925, at Appalachian State University (1967-current). The image includes Professor Herbert Max Smith from the Music Department on the left, and Uberto Price from the Education Department on the right. From left to right: Dr. Max Smith (Music),Dr. Peggy Hartley (Foreign Languages), Dr. Hans Heyman (English), Dr. Richard McKenzie (Economics), Mr. Joseph L.
