Two of the men are sitting down at a table, while Appalachian State President Herbert Walter Wey (1969-1979) stands in the middle. The Broyhill Inn and Conference Center served as an inn and the home of the Center for Continuing Education. Seated on the left is Mr. William C. Friday, President of the University of North Carolina, and seated on the right is Mr. James Holshouser, Governor of the State of North Carolina.
