This image shows a procession of faculty and speakers in one of the campus gymnasiums for the presidential inauguration of Dr. Herbert Walter Wey in 1969 at Appalachian State University (1967-current). People are walking in a line in front of a row of bleachers, wearing caps and gowns. Wey served as president/chancellor from 1969 to 1979. On the far right is Dr. Paul Sanders, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Fourth from the right is Gov. Robert Scott.
