This image shows student Karen Gade standing with her father outside after the May 1986 commencement ceremony at Appalachian State University (1967-current). Karen is holding her degree and both are dressed in graduation attire. Commencement ceremonies were held in Varsity Gymnasium since the building's completion in 1968.
