This image shows a faculty member behind a piano in academic dress during the May 1976 commencement ceremony at Appalachian State University (1967-current). Commencement ceremonies were held in Varsity Gymnasium since the building's completion in 1968. Seated is Dr. Max Smith, Professor of Music.
