This image shows a student typing numbers from a large index card on an adding machine during a class taught by James T. Thompson, head of the Department of Business Education, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). A woman can be seen standing in the background. He taught business education at Appalachian State from 1949 to 1955. This photograph was taken during the mid-1950s.
