Appalachian High School, Majorettes, photo 3

This image shows a member of the Appalachian High School (1938-1965) Majorettes, standing on College Field in front of Smith-Wright Hall, built 1940, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). The Majorettes performed at the high school athletic events and at Appalachian State's Homecoming festivities. Appalachian High School was a joint venture between Appalachian State Teachers College and Watauga County Schools, wherein Watauga students would be taught by Appalachian State faculty and students.
