Description

This image shows the construction of the new wing on the eastern side of East Residence Hall, built 1952, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) on January 12, 1959. It was designed to hold 204 women, with two students per room, but due to overcrowding was later known to hold three to a room. The new addition increased the capacity to 376 students.
