Student Council, 1958-59

This image shows the Student Council for 1958-59 posing in front of a sign reading, "ASTC Student Council," at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). The Student Council met weekly with the Executive Council of Appalachian State, allowing a student voice in the College's decisions. It has been an official representation of the student body since 1940. Standing on the far left of the second row is Mr. Roger Thomas, Professor of Health, Physical Education and Recreation and Golf Coach.
