This image shows two members of the Appalachian State Mountaineer football team and head coach E. C. Duggins inside the Men's Gymnasium, built 1934, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Players Ned Pennell (left) and Ed Lakey (center) pick up football helmets out of bags, and E. C. Duggins (right) holds a bag. The image was taken in the early 1950s.
