Rhododendron, 1958, "A Time for Humility," photo 1

This image shows a woman standing in front of an empty chair by the altar in a church. This image was published in the 1958 Rhododendron (p. 11), with the title, "And a Time for Humility." It was part of an introductory series of images, reading, "A. S. T. C. is more than a school... it is a state of mind, the search for knowledge, the desire for gaiety, the determination to win, the will to serve, the need for recognition, and a time for humility." The Rhododendron was the student produced yearbook for Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) since 1922 to 1992, and 2005 to 2006, when it ceased publication.
