Description

This image shows John Idol, editor for "The Appalachian," the student newspaper at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) for 1957-58. "The Appalachian" was written and produced by students, and the business manager and editor were elected by the student body at the end of the previous school year. It began production in 1934 as a weekly newspaper, reporting on campus events, sports, opinions and editorials, and local advertisements. This image appears in the 1958 Rhododendron (p. 104).
