This image shows Encyclopedia Britannica Films, Inc., District Manager Lawton Miles, right, presenting a collection of films to President William Howard Plemmons (1955-1969), center, and Audio-Visual Center Director John A. Pritchett, left, on March 14, 1958 at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). EBF, Inc., donated a collection of their film library, approximately 1,400 color filmstrips. Encyclopedia Britiannica Films, Inc., was the largested producer of educational films in the 1950s. Seen in the background are film cans on metal racks. The Audio-Visual Center was located in the Education Building, built 1925, and provided technical assistance as well as educational films for students and teachers. This image appears in the March 20, 1958, edition of "The Appalachian."
