Homecoming Dance, 1958, band

This image shows the Homecoming dance at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in October 1958. A band plays on the stage in front of a night scene in the Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955. The annual Homecoming celebrations included a parade, dramatic plays, the crowing of the Homecoming queen, an alumni reunion, a football game, and a dance.
