Description

This image shows the Homecoming dance at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in October 1958. People gather around a table with jars of instant coffee, bowls of sugar, evaporated milk, and Orange Thins cookies, in the Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955. The annual Homecoming celebrations included a parade, dramatic plays, the crowing of the Homecoming queen, an alumni reunion, a football game, and a dance. Dean Maxie Edmiston is seen on the far left.
