This somewhat obscured image shows a player catching a football during the Homecoming football game between the Appalachian State Mountaineers and Catawba College Indians on October 18, 1958 on College Field at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Other players and referees can be seen in the center of the image, and the audience is visible seated on bleachers at the edge of the field. The second Administration Building, built 1924, and the Men's Gymnasium, built 1934, can be seen in the background. Appalachian won the game 6-0.
