Description

This image shows one of the Homecoming displays constructed on the Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) campus on October 18, 1958. Placed on the yard beside the Women's Gymnasium, built 1924, it is a series of boxes designed to mimic the UNIVAC computer, one of the first computer systems, with drawn dials and buttons on the exterior. The UNIVAC computer was one of the first systems utilized by Appalachian State in the 1960s.
