Senior Superlatives, 1958, Most Athletic, photo 1

Description

This image shows senior superlative Ted Watson, voted Most Athletic for 1958, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Senior superlatives were selected from and voted on by the senior class, and included friendliest, most versatile, most intellectual, most likely to succeed, most attractive, most handsome, and most athletic boy and girl. They were voted on at the end of the spring semester, along with the campus superlatives, who were chosen from and voted on by the entire student body. Watson is seen standing by the trophy case in Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955. This image appears in the 1958 Rhododendron (p. 163).
