This image shows a square dance on April 1, 1957, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Dance was reportedly given by Dr. Winette L. Hargrove, professor of music at Appalachian State. Students can be seen dancing in a circle in one of the campus gymnasiums, with other students sitting on bleachers on the left.
