Commencement, 1957, degree ceremony, photo 1

This image shows the degree ceremony in the spring commencement ceremony on May 17, 1957, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Students can be seen walking between rows of folding chairs towards the stage, while other students stand in front of chairs facing forward. Commencement was held at Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955, until 1968.
