This image shows Dwight Quinn hugging a woman after the commencement ceremony at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in May 1978, surrounded by a crowd of people. Quinn was a legislator in the North Carolina Legislature and former member of the Appalachian State Board of Trustees. Quinn played a prominent role in Appalachian State achieving university status, and received an honorary doctor of laws degree during the commencement ceremony. On the left is Mr. F. P. Bodenheimer, member of the Board of Trustee. In between Mr. Bodenheimer and Mr. Quinn is Mr. Lee Adams, Director of Public Affairs.
