This image shows a group of professors and commencement speakers standing outside the Varsity Gymnasium, built 1968, before commencement in May 1977 at Appalachian State University (1967-current). Two professors can be seen conversing in the foreground, while two more are visible in the background. The man on the right in the foreground is Mr. Johnny Walker, the person for whom walker Hall is named Behind Mr. Walker is Rev. Robert Young Pastor of Boone Grace Lutheran Church.
