This image shows a group of attendees of the May 1977 commencement in the Varsity Gymnasium, built 1968, at Appalachian State University (1967-current). Eight people pose in front of an entrance to a building. Two other people are visible standing in front of the building's entrance in the background. On the far right is Chancellor Herbert W. Wey. Next to him is Mrs. Johnny Walker, wife of Mr. Johnny Walker who is standing next to her. Mr. and Mrs. Walker had five daughters so the other women in the image are probably their daughters.
