Description

This image shows the awarding of an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree to former Registrar Herman Eggers in 1971, during the 1971 commencement ceremony in the Varsity Gymnasium, built 1968, at Appalachian State University (1969-current). Chancellor Herbert Walter Wey (1969-1979) stands to the left, holding the framed degree being presented to Herman Roland Eggers (middle), as the Dean of the Graduate School Cratis Williams fastens Eggers' doctoral hood.
