Title

Artist and Lecture Series, band performance

Description

This image shows three musicians, playing a violin, a banjo, and a guitar, performing at Appalachian State University as part of the Artist and Lecture Series. Established in the mid-1950s, Artist and Lecture Series was a program to bring a variety of music, dance, and theater performances to Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) and Appalachian State University (1967-current). Performances and lectures were scheduled throughout the University's academic year, and were attended by students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the surrounding community. Nationally or regionally known artists, musicians, and scholars were invited to the university based on relevance to students and campus events.
