This image shows a group from the French Swiss Ski College speaking at Appalachian State University. A man can be seen standing on a stage speaking, with other seven others standing behind him. Established in the mid-1950s, Artist and Lecture Series was a program to bring a variety of music, dance, and theater performances to Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) and Appalachian State University (1967-current). Performances and lectures were scheduled throughout the University's academic year, and were attended by students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the surrounding community. Nationally or regionally known artists, musicians, and scholars were invited to the university based on relevance to students and campus events.
