This image shows six attendees at one of the seventy-fifth anniversary celebratory events at Appalachian State University (1967-current). The seventy-fifth anniversary of Appalachian State University was celebrated in 1978, commemorating the anniversary of the University becoming a state-sponsored institution with a focus in teacher training in 1903, when Watauga Academy (1899-1903) became Appalachian Training School (1903-1925). To the right is Dr. Hugh Daniel, member of the Board of Trustees and later the Board of Governors, and next to him is his wife, Ruby, who was also a member of the Board of Trustees.
